IGCSE Computing and more - teaching training, miiddle school ICT

The Drupal site and it's CSS features were successfully used during Dulwich College Beijing's Newsday project and provided live feeds of simulated events happening around the college.

Meanwhile Richard is back in New Zealand and working on a new venture - setting up an online school to teach IB Computer Science - and a couple of new books. Watch this space for news.

On this site the Community Space will be used to spotlight good books, websites and events for elearners and developers.

This site is intended to be open to schools and trainers anywhere in the world. Much of the course material here was developed for the UK National Curriculum but hopefully with an international dimension.

The main panel identifies the major areas of the site.

Richard Jones has been teaching ICT and Computing for nearly 20 years from ages 6 up to 18 in international schools. He has also lectured in computer science at the University of Waikato, New Zealand.

He holds an MA Education from the University of Bath, UK and a post graduate certificate in Online Education from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

Welcome to this site

You will find here:

On the Moodle LMS: Open source course materials for Key Stages 3 and 4 (UK National Curriculum). These may also have application to Middle School Technology in other systems. Some courses are better than others, some have lesson plans and worksheets, others are more like collections of ideas. Look and see.

On the Community Site: Forums, polls, blogs etc which you have contributed to; if you haven't contributed maybe no one else has either. I offer this as a discussion space for students, teachers, parents, anyone who has something interesting to say.

On the html pages: Some rough and ready course materials in html for Word 2003, Intro to web design and Excel. Recently added, some notes by the students on hardware (can be slow loading).

On the About page: Some details of me.
